bbPress Upgrades to 2.1, Gives Us the WP Editor

bbPress 2.1 has been released to the wild. It’s the forum plugin we use here on VoodooPress. If you are interested in everything included with this update, you can check out the post on bbpress.org. I’ll tell you right now, the first thing that I enjoy with this update is that we get the normal tiny mce visual/html editor that WP users are so familiar with. That right there is awesome news to me! Give it a try over here on the VoodooPress forums, if you like!

Disable bbPress and bbPress Post Toolbar Scripts and Styles if Not on a Forum Page

Here’s a quick little tidbit for you. I was recently working on a few small things to make my site load a bit faster, and I was digging through all my scripts and styles that load. bbPress 2.0 Has Been Released

It’s finally here, after months of betas, and release candidates, the full release of bbPress 2.0 just went down! We’ve been running it here since back in beta. This is the forum I’ve been looking for. After trying my hand at many standalones, and various plugins that never quite got it right. All I wanted was something lightweight, with quality WordPress integration. Not something that looked like it was shoehorned into WP, and was bloated with features.

If you want to check out bbPress, hit up the link above for the details. Or better yet, cruise on over to the VoodooPress forums, and give it a try! I’d love to have you join in the conversation!

Testing bbPress With the VoodooPress Forums

For those that haven’t heard, bbPress released a new plugin. I hadn’t used bbPress before, even though I wanted to. It was just too hard to get working the way I wanted. But it’s new and fresh, and built to work great with WordPress. In the spirit of testing it out, I’ve added it to VoodooPress. Feel free to sign up and chat away, we have a new Forums tab up top now. It’s far from ready for showtime, but it works. Feel free to shoot some suggestions my way, on ways to make it look or act better, or just on new sections that you think we need.
