We have had a variety of posts about posting from the front-end. I had gotten us started with a series of posts. After getting a solid foundation in place, I started back to school and life got crazy. I had to switch to Gravity Forms for my own needs, I needed some pretty advanced forms, and just didn’t have the time to keep maintaining the code I had begun. At that time, I asked my readers to please continue developing this code and hit me up with any new features. That started a while back with our edit and delete code from fitoussi. Next up we have some code from Lisa of WP Axis who sent in a solution to get our validation working properly.
I don’t have many affiliate links on here. I put a couple up here and there when discussing certain products that I enjoy. One of them is our Gravity Forms link, which is used when discussing how to do certain things with Gravity Forms. Not gonna lie, I really dig that plugin – I get a lot done with it! I just wanted to take a second to thank the folks who have purchased the plugin through VoodooPress. This month is the first time I’ve made any money off of the links, and I definitely appreciate it!
Thanks for supporting VoodooPress!
I’ve made a couple of posts over the past while about Gravity Forms. Specifically with regards to their user registration module. This module has saved me tonnes of spam, plus it just makes my sites look a little more polished and professional in my opinion. It’s nice to have a site branded registration process. Well, recently Gravity Forms released an update, and while this update didn’t do anything major for me, the release notes spelled out a very cool roadmap for the near future, let’s discuss!
I recently came across a problem where none of my emails were getting through to anyone, even me. Registration, comments, forms, etc. They were all hosed up. I’ve got a couple of tricks for you here that fixed things for me. This helped normal WordPress emails, Contact Form 7, Gravity Forms, etc. First I’ll show you how to send your email from YOU, not [email protected], then I’ll tell you what else I did that may be host specific.
Whoa, I just looked at my contact form records… It looks like I’ve missed a fair amount of entries. If you have not gotten a reply from VoodooPress, rest assured, I haven’t ignored you on purpose. I’m not sure if these are going to my SPAM folder or what. I will transition my contact form to Gravity Forms very soon, so that I at least get dashboard notification of any new entries. I will try to find your entries and reply asap. If you haven’t heard from me, please feel free to contact me again! Aplogies from Rev. Voodoo!
Not that long ago, I posted a little shout out for some help dealing with spam registrations. Between my personal blog, and VoodooPress, I was getting hammered. Well Ryan Imel stopped by with a little suggestion I hadn’t even considered. 2 words: Gravity Forms. Let me break it down for you.
VoodooPress had been getting a huge amount of registration spam lately and it was driving me nuts. Thanks to a tip on this post, I’ve implemented a new registration form using Gravity Forms and turned off the standard registration. It’s all tested and works great. I also purged a few hundred (hopefully) spam users. If you accidentally got deleted, please sign up again. We love our real, human readers!!
